Plantation Mistress Essay

In the book, Plantation Mistress (Clinton, 1984) by author Catherine Clinton, it seems that Clinton desires to express her disapproval for the way in which women were treated so harshly.  She dialogue about maids brought to our country during the year 1620 and in Clintons writing, it is extremely raise how she equanimous her information for this book from letters that were written so many years ago, and crimson from diaries, suggesting that women from that ancient clipping period werent treated as equals in the bass South and in this slave succession and time in our history, the author relays to her readers that on that point is evidence that cruelty did take manoeuvre toward women and practices such as using females as workhorses shouldnt have been acceptable in any time period. Also, many of these women referred to as mistresses werent taken care of mightily and didnt even receive the incumbent and basic essentials, such as prissy toiletries or food. They were tre ated like befriend class citizens and werent considered as veracious as men.            We gather a  refreshed admiration for maids as we read Clintons writing and feel regret for those who had to run because of neglect and misunderstanding. Clinton teaches us that all domain were created as equals and all women and the slaves from that same time period were regarded less than human.            Its interesting to be able to read whatsoever of those old letters that were written so many years ago so that we have a greater appreciation for women who lived on these plantations in the deep South.                                                 cite PAGEClinton, Catherine.
